During a press conference on Friday, head coach Sean McDermott openly addressed the growing interest in Joe Brady for head coaching roles.

When asked about Brady‘s interviews with other teams, McDermott stated, “At the end of the day, Joe has my full support. Number one, I think he has earned that.” While McDermott praised Brady‘s talent and professionalism, the underlying worry of potentially losing such a key figure was clear in his remarks.
McDermott also highlighted Brady‘s ability to keep the team focused and organized.
He described Brady as a “good person and an excellent coach,” reinforcing why Brady has become so appealing to teams seeking new leadership. Yet, the thought of losing Brady is clearly a difficult pill to swallow.
Brady’s work with the Bills’ offense this season has been impressive. Under his guidance, Buffalo ranks 10th in yards per game (131.2), and quarterback Josh Allen has flourished, amassing 3,731 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.
Allen‘s tongue-in-cheek response when asked about Brady‘s contributions shows just how valued the offensive coordinator is within the team. “Nothing. He hasn’t done anything for us.
Teams should stay away from him,” Allen joked, hinting at how much the team wants to keep Brady around.
A Growing Demand for Joe Brady
Brady‘s name has already been linked to head coaching vacancies with the New Orleans Saints and the Chicago Bears.
The Saints dismissed Dennis Allen in November 2024 after enduring a seven-game losing streak, their worst since 1999.
Following an interim coaching stint by Darren Rizzi, the franchise has begun its search for a permanent head coach, with Brady emerging as a top candidate. He recently completed an interview with the Saints, adding to the speculation about his future.
Similarly, the Chicago Bears, who parted ways with Matt Eberflus last year, are also interested in Brady.
