But whenever they got close, SGA shut the door.
His defining moment came with under three minutes left. After a missed shot, he grabbed his own rebound and put it back up to reach 50, pushing Oklahoma City’s lead to 132-120. That bucket put the game-and the Rockets-to bed.
Jalen Williamsadded 24 points for the Thunder, continuing his strong play, while Chet Holmgren posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Lu Dort delivered the final dagger with back-to-back three-pointers that stretched OKC’s lead late in the fourth.
With 50 wins under their belt and Gilgeous-Alexander playing at an all-time level, the Thunder aren’t just looking like contenders-they’re looking like the team to beat.
