Jake Paul cost Shaquille O’Neal a million dollars by beating Iron Mike Tyson on Saturday, November 15 in Texas but the former-Los Angeles Laker didn’t seem to mind too much as he was spotted hanging out with the YouTuber post-fight.
The 27-year-old claimed a 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 win via unanimous decision after easily dictating the tempo of the bout after the first round, in what became dubbed as “drab” by critics and onlookers.
And for the four-time NBA champion, there could have been an even sourer taste in his mouth because of the lost cash after he said he would be, “placing one (bet) this weekend. Mike Tyson baby. All the way.”
But Shaq is known for his fun personality and in his post-athletic career, for letting bygones by bygones and it turns out he simply shrugged off the betting failure as he headed to Shaq‘s Bass All-Star Festival.
There he was actually joined on stage by Paul as the pair enjoyed the sound of music with the ex-Laker starring as the DJ for the event in a video shared to Instagram as the audience went crazy.
The festival at Panther Island Pavilion in Dallas-Fort Worth is also sponsored by Papa John’s Pizza as the 7ft1in center put the disappointment at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington firmly behind him.
How much did Jake Paul make from the fight?
Well, if O’Neal did feel pressed about losing a million dollars to the bookies, he could have easily asked Paul to reimburse him after The Problem Child made a mega $40 million dollars on November 15.
Tyson is thought to have earned around $20m for his effort on the night, but it’s likely that O’Neal doesn’t care at all.
Anyway, he does have a net worth of around $400m.
