The 2025 NFL Draft is a little over a month away. Teams are finalizing their draft boards and gathering all necessary information for the crucial event, while players continue to try to improve their draft stock through workouts and team visits. Some players don’t need to do anything to improve their draft stock, but it’s always welcome for them to see their names go higher and higher in mock drafts.
That’s what appears to be happening for Shedeur Sanders at the moment, which will surely please Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes family. There hasn’t been much doubt about Sanders’ standing in this year’s quarterback class: he’s either No. 1 or No. 2 on almost everyone’s draft board. But it seemed like his draft stock was slipping a bit as of late, with Cam Ward fully entrenching himself as the top signal-caller.

Mel Kiper Jr. and Daniel Jeremiah have Shedeur Sanders going to New York Giants
That may still be true, but Sanders is gaining a lot of steam to go very high as well, with the New York Giants emerging as the most-linked team to him. Several high-profile mock drafts, that have come out recently, slot Sanders to the Giants at No. 3.

The ESPN and Yahoo mocks are particularly interesting, because they both mention that the Giants should be willing to take Sanders even if they sign one of the remaining options on the free agent market. The franchise needs to have an eye on the future, and Sanders sitting for a season wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
Sanders has frequently been linked to the Giants this offseason, but so has Ward. In fact, there have been rumors that the Giants have discussed moving up to No. 1 to take Ward. Sanders seems to be the most likely consolation prize at this point in time, though.
