Shedeur Sanders had a dream of being the second pick in the NFL Draft, but the Cleveland Browns have closed the door on him

Shedeur Sanders has lost a lot of ground, and the Cleveland Browns are practically ruling out using their first-round pick to turn the former Colorado Buffaloes player into the franchise’s quarterback of the future.

Truth be told, we don’t know if this is fortunate for Shedeur or the Browns, but it leans more toward the former, given the parade of QBs the team has seen in recent years.

Rumors about the position where Shedeur Sanders might be selected are increasingly moving away from the Browns’ second-round pick in the Draft. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated has revealed that they won’t be the only team passing on the services of Deion Sanders‘ son.

“I don’t think Sanders is going in the top three,” Breer wrote. “And at this point, it feels like it’d be surprising if the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, or Saints took him in the top 10.”

According to Breer, it’s expected that all teams will choose another name, and Shedeur Sanders won’t hear his name called until after the Top 10 (some even suggest it could be much later).

“I’ve had more than one person say to me that if Sanders goes in the first round, it’ll be because an owner got involved,” Breer added.

“I’m having a really hard time finding coaches or scouts who believe Sanders is a first-round talent. This, by the way, is separate from any issue anyone has with his personality. Those questions exist, but lots of teams have made exceptions in that department in the past to take on guys with special talents.”

Many Cleveland Browns fans believe Sanders shouldn’t be the No. 2 overall pick, though it seems they could make a trade to get him before their No. 33 pick. However, as the hours and days pass, the outlook for Shedeur looks increasingly less promising.

Another team linked to the Colorado quarterback was the New Orleans Saints, especially knowing that Derek Carr could miss the entire season. The Las Vegas Raiders might also see Shedeur as an option, but it seems impossible that they would use their first-round pick on him.
