Both Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter could be picked in the first round of the 2024/25 NFL Draft as the Colorado Buffaloes‘ aces continue to star in the NCAA as a dynamic quarterback-receiver duo.
Sanders, aged 22, has thrown for 2882 yards and 24 touchdowns whilst allowing just six interceptions throughout the ongoing campaign and whilst he isn’t tipped to be a generational talent like Caleb Williams, he continues to impress.

Meanwhile Hunter, aged 21, has made 856 receiving yards from 69 interceptions for nine touchdowns as well as making 20 tackles (13 solo), nine passes defended, seven interceptions (including one for a touchdown) and one forced fumble as he stars as the team’s cornerback.
Together, they have inspired the Buffaloes to a 7-2 record (5-1 conference) as they sit second in the Big 12 with three games to go, having already successfully clinched a bowl game under Deion Sanders‘ guidance.
As a result, they’re tipped to be picked up in the 2025 draft but who might actually sign up the two talents nurtured by Coach Prime?
Where could Shedeur Sanders go?
Several teams have been linked to the Buffaloes’ quarterback in bids to solve their own issues including the Las Vegas Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys but a late entry might be the New York Giants.
Daniel Jones‘ contract expires at the end of the 2026 and the 27-year-old has failed to be the QB the team needs, recently going viral for a pretty terrible performance against the Carolina Panthers in which he only passed for 190 yards and allowed two interceptions in a 20-17 loss.
So it could be the Giants, who rank 16th in payroll at $256m as per Spotrac, who might sign Sanders to kick off a new generation at the MetLife Stadium with the team sitting at 2-8 for the year.
Where could Travis Hunter go?
Hunter has been highly praised for his performances this year and finds himself well in the contest to with the Heisman Trophy, in what would be an exceptional recognition of his talents and efforts.
But it’s not the trophy he wants, it’s a spot in the big league, and he seems certain to get that chance with the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are rooted to the foot of the AFC South, watching him closely.
The Jaguars are 2-8 for the season and part of the reason why is they simply lack a good left tackle. That’s offering opponents far too much space to break their defensive lines and they are bleeding points as a result.
So combined with his skills as a wide receiver, he seems like a no brainer for a side that has money on hand being the 12th biggest spender in the NFL. Unless they plan to trade instead.
