Sophie Cunningham had her first year with the Indiana Fever and not only made new friends and earned the support of the team’s fans and the WNBA, but also forged a friendship with NBA Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton and his future wife, Jade Jones.
This was clearly demonstrated recently when the Fever star commented on Tyrese’s fiance’s latest post with a single word that said it all.

Sophie praises Jones
The 29-year-old guard joined the team in February 2025. However, in August, after 30 games, she suffered a torn medial collateral ligament in her right knee, requiring surgery and ending her first year in Indiana. She averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
Although she was unable to be on the court, Sophie remained in contact with fans on social media and has been very active. She also uses this medium to praise her friends.
Recently, the future wife of the Indiana Pacers star attended Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena to cheer on her fianc’s team in their game against the Sacramento Kings, which they won 116-105. Andrew Nembhard led with 28 points, 12 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.
During the game, Jade shared a photo with her Instagram followers of herself sitting in the stadium wearing a short, form-fitting dress paired with a brown faux fur shawl and matching high boots. “Come sit with me,” Jones wrote.
Among the comments from her fans, one stood out from the rest: that of Sophie Cunningham. The Fever point guard often attends Pacers games to support the Indiana team and her friend, along with other Fever stars such as Lexie Hull and Caitlin Clark, who are also friends of the couple. On this occasion, she was unable to attend, but she left her support in the post and wrote “Mamiiii” along with a fire heart emoji and another of a face exhaling.
Meanwhile, Tyrese and Jade began their relationship in 2019, when they met at Iowa State University. Since then, they have supported each other.
While working as an elementary school teacher, Jade also encouraged Haliburton’s professional career, even traveling to the 2024 Paris Olympics where she saw him win gold with the U.S. team.
After six years together, on July 28 of this year, the Pacers star borrowed Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena to propose. “The place where our story started, and where our next chapter begins,” they wrote in a shared Instagram post announcing their engagement alongside 10 photos and videos of the moment. Meanwhile, they have yet to confirm the date of the big day.
