Without a doubt, last week was one to forget for Stefon Diggs. The New England Patriots wide receiver suffered a crushing defeat to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, but prior to this blow, it was rumored that he had also fallen, but off the field.
The day before the Big Game, rumors surfaced about a possible breakup with his girlfriend and mother of his child, Cardi B. And his recent post only added to the controversy.
Diggs’ mysterious post
Just three days after the loss to Seattle, the Patriots WR shared a lengthy post on his official Instagram account.
In 20 photos, Diggs showed off some of his outfits and images of himself on the field. However, what caught everyone’s attention were some of the phrases he included in the post, starting with the caption: “Gratitude and Fear cannot coexist in the same space… a reminder to control what you can control, remain thankful and stay motivated,” Stefon wrote.
In the second of the images Diggs posted, a message read: “Luck didn’t bring me this far… God did.” In the seventh, it reads: “Do not ignore your own self-doubt. That is the old you reminding you how much you have achieved,” which is a possible nod to the fact that he made it to the Super Bowl.
Another message, which drew attention due to his situation with Cardi B, read: “The best way to appreciate something is to be without it for a while.”
Diggs also shared a child’s reflection: “It ain’t all good, but it ain’t all bad either. So be thankful.” Along with a poster of Kobe Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers and NBA star, came a new phrase: “Have a hard year,” accompanying the image of the sports legend. His post ends with a phrase that read: “We all we got, we all we need.”
Another point that gained relevance was his decision to restrict comments, something he had not done with other recent publications.
This post comes after rumors of a split between him and Cardi B. On Saturday, February 7, during the Super Bowl Fanatics Party, an ESPN reporter asked the rapper to send an inspiring message to Diggs. However, she only replied “Good luck” before leaving with obvious discomfort.
This did not go unnoticed by fans, who interpreted her response as a sign of tension between the couple. In addition, they also noticed that they no longer follow each other on Instagram.
On Sunday, February 9, Cardi B participated in the Super Bowl Halftime Show, dancing alongside other Latin icons such as Pedro Pascal, Young Miko, Karol G, and Jessica Alba, in “La Casita” by Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny. However, the 33-year-old singer appeared to leave Levi’s Stadium after the halftime show, according to People.
For this reason, Diggs’ post and the restrictions he set have attracted so much attention and opened a new chapter in this story.
The rapper and the WR have been together since late 2024. They made their first public appearance at a New York Knicks game in May 2025 and made their romance official on Instagram in June of that year. In September of last year, they announced that they were expecting their first child together, who was born in November.
