Stefon Diggs sends a message about Josh Allen to Bills fans

Stefon Diggs is preparing for the biggest game of his career, and the moment has clearly brought reflection.

As the veteran wide receiver gets ready to appear in the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots, he has taken time to look back on the journey that brought him there, including his memorable years catching passes from Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

Diggs never reached the Super Bowl during his time in Buffalo, despite being one of the league’s most productive receivers. That reality has made this week especially emotional, as he balances excitement for the present with appreciation for the past.

Speaking to reporters, Diggs made it clear that there is no bitterness when it comes to Allen. In fact, his words were filled with respect.

“Keep hanging your head on that quarterback,” Diggs said. “That quarterback is a Hall of Famer.”

While Diggs understands how some Bills fans may feel about his departure, he didn’t shy away from acknowledging that tension.

He admitted that he’s aware he may not be viewed favorably by everyone in Buffalo right now, but he framed those emotions as part of the business side of football rather than personal resentment. His focus, he explained, has always been on finding the best opportunity to compete at the highest level.

That pursuit led Diggs out of Buffalo in 2024, when he was traded to the Houston Texans, and eventually to New England before the 2025 season. The move has paid off. Now serving as the Patriots’ top receiving option, Diggs has become a key weapon for young quarterback Drake Maye, helping guide the team through a deep postseason run.

Diggs‘ impact in Buffalo, however, remains impossible to overlook. After arriving from the Minnesota Vikings in 2020, he immediately transformed the Bills’ offense. In his first season, he led the NFL in receptions with 127 catches for 1,535 yards, setting the tone for years of elite production.

Partnership that defined an era in Buffalo

Over the next three seasons, Diggs consistently topped 1,000 receiving yards, forming one of the league’s most dangerous quarterback-receiver duos with Allen. Their on-field chemistry helped elevate Buffalo into perennial contention and played a major role in Allen‘s rise as one of the NFL’s premier passers.

Despite the individual success and playoff appearances, a Super Bowl trip remained out of reach. Diggs has admitted that part of him wishes the story had ended differently in Buffalo, but he remains proud of what they accomplished together.

Now, as Diggs steps onto football’s biggest stage wearing a Patriots uniform, his reflections highlights how careers are rarely linear. Championships may come with one team, while legacy is built with another.
