But injuries, trades and the rising of young teams such as the Sacramento Kings, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timbervoles and the Houston Rockets, have decimated the Warriors and Curry‘s chance of getting to another NBA Finals and win another Larry O’Brien trophy.

The Golden State Warriors adquire All-Star Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat on February and are 5-1 since then, with the former Marquette standout bringing some much needed offensive power to a lineup that was neeed to help Steph Curry carry the load.

The forward, who played 11 seasons in the NBA with seven teams – including the Golden State Warriors – send a warning to the rest of the league: it’s better to avoid the Dubs in the playoffs.
While speakin on the podcast “Run It Back,” Cousins said that Golden State can scare any of the teams on top of the Western Conference – the young Oklahoma City Thunder team is currently on top of it – and give them a run for the money, with a possible first round exit.
“I’m scared. If I’m one or two, I’m lowkey ducking. ‘Let’s lose a couple of games, see if we can get another team in that first round. Any team with Steph Curry in the first round, I’m scared.” Cousins stated.
A case for the Golden State Warriors
The Warriors are currently on 9th place of the Western Conference and if the playoffs were to start tomorrow, they will compete in a play-in tournament to determine the final two playoff seeds.
That will put the Warriors facing either the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Dallas Mavericks or the Sacramento Kings. If they were to win, they would have to face either the OKC Thunder or the Denver Nuggets, a juggernaut lead by MVP center Nikola Jokic and veteran guard Jamal Murray.
In order to do that, the Warriors must have a stellar performance from Steph Curry and they will need all of the offensive talent of Jimmy Butler, who has showed that he can carry a team on his back all the way to the NBA Finals, as he did in 2020 when he lead the Miami Heat to a championship series against Los Angeles Lakers. Ultimately, the Florida team fell to LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Los Angeles Lakers 4-2.
