Hearts were in the mouths of the Golden State Warriors‘ organization when Steph Curry collapsed to the floor twice against the Los Angeles Clippers on October 28 and the pain was so bad he couldn’t even look his wife in the eyes.
The 2024 Olympic Games gold medalist initially shrugged the pain off and with some basic medical remedies attempted to continue on the court, before aggravating the injury again as Steve Kerr made the decision to pull him out of the contest.
Yet as he hobbled off to the physio room for assessment, fans were wondering where his wife was in his time of need until a video from fans revealed Ayesha and their daughter were seated in the stands of the Chase Center with their reactions captured.
Curry’s kid covered her mouth in horror as she watched her father limp in pain whilst Ayesha immediately began talking to her friend, clearly upset at the unfolding drama.
But interestingly, the 36-year-old point guard chose not to look at her nor their kid. However, considering he could barely walk due to the pain that’s far from surprising, he had slightly different priorities in that moment.
How long will Curry be out for?
Curry had posted 18 points, six assists and four rebounds in 27 minutes in the game against the Clippers, which the Warriors lost 112-104 without their star man in the heart of the city of San Francisco.
That was their first loss of the season through three games and leaves them sixth in the Western Conference, currently headed by the Oklahoma City Thunder, as they look to get back into the NBA Playoffs again.
But with Curry hurt, that’s a huge blow for the outfit so how long might the four-time NBA champion and two-time MVP be sidelined for?
“He’s obviously sprained the ankle many times before,” Kerr said to reporters. “So he doesn’t think it’s too bad. But obviously it’s a concern.”
Given it takes an average of between three weeks to six months to recover depending on the damage, that would mean Curry would be due back sometime around Monday, November 18.
