Steph Curry’s mom hints there was cheating in relationship with dad Dell

Sonya Curry hinted that there was adultery in her 33-year-long marriage to Dell as the parents of the Golden State Warriors’ Steph Curry split up in a sour fall out that saw strong accusations against each other.

The couple married in 1988 after meeting at Virginia Tech college and went on to have three children together, but things ended in disaster in August 2021 when the confirmed the end of their love after a ‘trial separation’.

Dell then accused the 58-year-old of having an affair with a former NFL player and claimed she lied about it whilst Sonya responded the same way, linking him to cheating throughout their decades-long union.

Now the mother of the NBA legend reopens the drama of the divorce by revealing she ‘experienced adultery’ in a cryptic analogy that’s saw her compare herself to the Bible’s Eve, although she stopped short of saying who was unfaithful.

“I was going through the Bible,” Sonya told The Travis Hearn Podcast. “And I’m Eve. I’m the one who knew better, but wanted to know more.

“I’m Sarah, who God said, you’re gonna have a child. And I was like, I’m gonna make this happen now. I gave that blessing away, and now I have to deal with these repercussions.

“I’m the overworker. When I should be sitting at his feet, when I should be sitting, reading his Word. And I’ve experienced adultery, I’ve experienced people throwing rocks.”

It’s not clear what exactly Sonya is trying to say through the comparison to the Christian characters, but the story of Eve is of her deceiving Adam into eating the Forbidden Fruit of Knowledge.

The result is that God ejected both from the Garden of Eden and cursed the serpent that tricked Eve. As a result, the Christian and Jewish deity also cursed Eve to suffer pain through childbirth and assured the human race of a life-time of hardship for their betrayal.

Who do the Warriors play next?

The Golden State Warriors next take to the Chase Center on Thursday, January 2 as they welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to California.

Tip-off is from 22:00 ET/19:00 PT and will see Curry’s team bid for their 17th win of the season. They currently sit 10th in the Western Conference and are 11 games behind the pace-setting Oklahoma City Thunder.
