Taylor Swift flees New Orleans, hiding under an army of umbrellas after being disappointed by Travis Kelce at Super Bowl

Taylor Swift made a hasty exit from New Orleans days after being stunned at the Caesars Superdome as the Philadelphia Eagles dominated Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9 at the Super Bowl.

A 40-22 defeat ensured Patrick Mahomes and his colleagues suffered their first Super Bowl loss since 2020, when they were upset by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Sunday’s game was very reminiscent of Tom Brady‘s win.

The 29-year-old quarterback was relentlessly pressured throughout the contest and had few options to target, and when he did manage to find the space he often had to throw desperation plays with receivers such as DeAndre Hopkins and Kelce firmly shut down.

Kelce, the 35-year-old tight end, couldn’t impress before his girlfriend and only produced four catches for 39 yards. He never made a catch in the first half as the Chiefs went into the break 24-0 down.

With the billionaire popstar looking far from impressed in the stands, it was a rough night for all fans of the Missouri-based team as they now head off to various parts of the United States to lick their wounds, including Swift.

The Fortnight singer’s private jet took off from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Monday, February 10 but the interesting thing was how she used an army of umbrellas to hide from the cameras despite there being no drops of rain in sight.

The star headed to Nashville, despite owning homes in New England, New York and Los Angeles. She relocated to Tennessee to be closer to Kelce and the Arrowhead Stadium, where she can be regularly spotted supporting her boyfriend.

With the Eras Tour concluding in December and the 2024/25 NFL season now complete, the pair will get to enjoy a rare period of free time together before their demanding schedules take over later in the year.

When is the NFL back?

The NFL will now take a break until draft from April 24-26, although Travis Kelce won’t be involved in the event at Lambeau Field in Green Bay at all.

Fans can expect to see the tight end back on the field in early September. The 2025/26 NFL season will begin on Thursday, September 4 and the Eagles will play in the first game of the new campaign as the defending champions.
