Travis Kelce has been everywhere since the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII victory in February, but his latest public appearance left the NFL star with some questions to answer. Kelce surprised everyone by appearing in a TikTok video with a popular blonde heartthrob, but it was Olivia Dunne, not his girlfriend Taylor Swift.
Beyond advertising their shared sponsor, Accelerator Active Energy drink, Dunne had an ulterior motive for the star-studded crossover, and it is bound to lead to a conversation between Swift and Kelce.
“I feel like you’re just here for concert tickets…” read the text on the video that went out to her 8 million followers, mimicking a popular sound on TikTok.
It’s true that since starting to date Swift, the Chiefs tight end has started getting a lot of attention solely because of his connection with the music superstar. Clearly, Dunne‘s marketing strategy worked well, because the video generated more views than any other video on her account in the past month.
“only here for Travis,” commented one of many Swifties who found the video.
“travis, the bills can’t be that high,” joked a fan.
While the video was nothing more than an ad campaign, a few people in the comments tried to use it to drive a wedge between Taylor and Travis.
“Wait why does he follow her on instagram but not taylor,” commented several eagle-eyed internet detectives.
Whether or not the 2024 NCAA gymnastics champion ended up with Eras Tour tickets, the video certainly did its job in causing a stir.
