Taylor Swift left the founder of Barstool Sports a loving message as he headed to her Eras Tour show in Miami on October 20, with the 34-year-old popstar celebrating his endless support of her career.
The billionaire singer attracted a lot of criticism when she endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 United States Presidential Election but one of her defenders was Dave Portnoy, who spoke up in support of her.
So in light of that, the Fortnight singer decided to make a very kind gesture to the 47-year-old with the heartfelt gesture as the star performer had her younger brother, Austin, deliver the note to him.
“Dave, I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight,” Swift’s handwritten note began. “I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive.
“So loyal and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t. I hope you have a blast tonight, love Taylor.”
Portnoy reacts to Swift’s gesture
Portnoy proved to be very grateful to the message, but not just the words on it, also because of the fact she took the time to write it for him despite the very busy demands of her Eras Tour schedule.
He had previously suspected the star was ghosting him since he didn’t get a personal invite to her shows in Miami from October 18-20, as he felt Swift’s team disliked him for an unspecified reason before later denying it.
“I had the time of my life and I can’t get over how unbelievable Taylor is performing,” Portnoy said in a video posted on X.com, formerly Twitter, wearing an Eras Tour shirt. “Three and a half hours, day after day, flawless. Perfect. That should’ve been it.
“This note from her, I was stunned. I can’t believe I met Austin and her mother, [Andrea Swift],” Portnoy continued. “I didn’t meet Taylor. That’s fine.
“I don’t think she ever really meets people when she’s performing, but this means more [the letter]. To take time out and to write the letter.”
