Worlds collided onstage at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, when Travis Kelce made a surprise appearance at girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s third London show as part of her globe-spanning Eras Tour. Kelce did more than just attend the concert — he was an active participant, dressed in a suit, tie, and top hat as part of the stage show for the song “I Can Do It with a Broken Heart.”
The captivating moment, witnessed live by more than 90,000 fans, came a month after Swift and Kelce were last seen publicly together during a vacation in Italy. It became an instantly-iconic moment on Swift‘s tour, and the “Lover” singer addressed it with her eager and expectant followers in a new Instagram post.
Swift: I’m swooning and cracking up over Travis
Swift’s three performances in London brought a wave of celebrities to Wembley, but Kelce’s appearance on night three — including his unexpected arrival onstage — immediately became the defining image of these shows in the United Kingdom. As the singer herself stated, Kelce came ready to impress — and to make her laugh.
“I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut,” Swift wrote in a multimedia montage on Instagram following the performance.
“Tuxedo Trav” shocked fans by taking the place of a dancer who usually whisks Swift offstage for an outfit change. Wearing a huge grin, the Kansas City Chiefs star dusted Swift’s face and carried her off himself before she moved on to the next “era” on her setlist.
After a few days off, Swift resumes her tour in Dublin on June 28. With Chiefs training camp still a few weeks away, does Kelce have another surprise appearance or two in him? Only time will tell.
