Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is one of the new faces of the NFL thanks to his leadership skills and his massive talent that has taken his team to new heights in just two years.
Selected No. 2 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Stroud took the NFL by storm during his rookie season and started in all 15 of his appearances, completing 319-of-499 pass attempts for a rookie franchise-record 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns, five interceptions and a passer rating of 100.8.

That marked the third-best passer rating by a rookie quarterback in the league’s history. His 4,108 passing yards during his first regular season ranked third in NFL annals among rookie signal callers, while pacing all rookies in every major passing category that season.

C.J. Stroud’s fame in the Houston area and other parts of Texas is undeniable, and that stardom has been a major asset for an impersonator who took advantage of looking a lot like the Texans quarterback to get into the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest livestrock exhibition and rodeo in the world.
Twitch streamer Colin Drum posted a video where he shows how he managed to sneak into the event for free. After all, the man bears an uncanny resemblance to the football player, dreads, goatee and height, the whole package.
Even though security members at the venue were hesitant at first to let Drum get in, they allowed him to enter the premises after realizing that it was C.J. Stroud in person who wanted to be part of the show. Some fans even took the opportunity to take pictures with the ‘Texans quarterback.’
Stroud, the undisputed leader of the Texans
By simply being himself, the 23-year-old quarterback C.J. Stroud is exactly what makes him the undisputed leader of the Houston Texans. “C.J. is authentic, he’s real,” coach DeMeco Ryans said. “It’s not only here, it’s in the locker room around the guys and that’s what leadership is to me”.
Sixth-year offensive lineman Tytus Howard said he knew early on that Stroud would be special. “He has that aura about him that when he speaks, everybody listens,” he said.
Stroud has helped the Texans win the AFC South and reach the playoffs for a second straight season after they had combined for just 11 wins in the three years before he was drafted second overall. The former Ohio State Buckeyes superstar was named AP Offensive Rookie of the Year last season, when Houston beat the Cleveland Browns in the first round before falling to the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round.
