On FIFA.com it is now possible to vote in various award categories. In this edition, fans will play a prominent role in choosing the winners. In the Best FIFA Men’s Player award, the Best FIFA Women’s Player award, the Best FIFA Men’s Coach award, the Best FIFA Women’s Coach award, the Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award and the Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award, fans’ votes will carry the same weight as those of the current captains and coaches of the men’s and women’s national teams, as well as those of media representatives. In Spain, the press representative in this vote is Juan Ignacio Gallardo, director of MARCA.

The winner of the FIFA Fan Award will be chosen exclusively by the fans, while a panel of experts will decide the recipient of the FIFA Fair Play Award. The winners of the new Marta Award and the FIFA Puskas Award will be chosen from among the fans and a panel of FIFA Legends, whose vote will carry equal weight.

The biggest innovation in the voting for this edition of The Best FIFA Football Awards is that fans will have the opportunity to participate in the selection of the The Best FIFA Men’s XI and The Best FIFA Women’s XI. Fans will be able to choose their players from a list of 77 nominees (22 defenders, 22 midfielders and 22 forwards, plus 11 goalkeepers) and place them in one of the predefined tactical formations to form their team. The fans’ votes will carry the same weight as those of a panel of experts.

The FIFA Puskas Award has been revamped and will be awarded to the scorer of the best goal in men’s football, regardless of the championship or nationality. In order to honour the best goal from any women’s league on the planet, the FIFA Marta Award will be presented for the first time, named after the Brazilian legend.

The deadline for voting on FIFA.com was 23:59 (CET) on Tuesday, December 10. The rules for all awards are available on the FIFA Digital Hub.
