As the NFL Draft gets closer, the team that always grabs the spotlight is the Dallas Cowboys. The franchise currently has several needs, especially in building a competitive roster for the tough NFC East, where they face the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.
Many experts and fans believe the team should focus on strengthening the offensive line, particularly after the premature retirement of guard Zack Martin, who is almost certain to be a future Hall of Famer. However, the Cowboys could also provide Dak Prescott with a new weapon.

There is no doubt that CeeDee Lamb is the Dallas Cowboys’ top receiver. Throughout his career, the former Oklahoma star has recorded 38 touchdowns and 6,339 receiving yards, making him Dallas’ primary aerial weapon. In 2024, he signed a four-year, $136 million contract extension.
Lamb is a star, not just for the Cowboys but for the entire NFL. Still, Dallas might look for a solid No. 2 receiver in the Draft and could find one with the 12th overall pick in the first round.
The Cowboys’ Front Office Has Their Eyes on Luther Burden III
According to Josh Liskiewitz of Pro Football Focus, the Dallas Cowboys are projected to select wide receiver Luther Burden III with their 12th overall pick.
“Burden recorded 50 explosive receptions and forced 54 missed tackles after the catch over the last two years. He is a ‘five-tool’ athlete, an ideal fit for the wide receiver position in the NFL. His first-round talent is complete, demonstrating the ability to succeed in any receiver role in any offense,” said Liskiewitz.
Luther Burden III is a dynamic receiver who can play multiple positions. With the Missouri Tigers in 2024, he totaled 61 receptions for 676 yards and six touchdowns, while also contributing 115 rushing yards and two additional rushing touchdowns.
