Patrick Mahomes and a lot of the Kansas City Chiefs players and coaches had a blast on Friday night, as they attended a very meaningful high school game, but alongside Brittany Mahomes, the whole family made the trip a teaching moment.
Kansas commit Tate Nagy, the son of Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, led a game-winning touchdown drive in the final seconds to lead Blue Valley West to a comeback win 35-34 and the Chiefs in attendance, including head coach Adny Reid had a blast.
But this helped the Mahomes keep their long list of traditions, as mother and father took son Bronze to the game just like Patrick and Brittany used to be taken when ids and as high school stars.
The tradition continues
Patrick was of course a star quarterback at Texas Tech and Brittany was a star as well playing soccer, and both were on the verge of becoming leader on and off the field since high school.
That is exactly what they want to teach their kids starting from a young age and what happened on Friday was a good opportunity to start up the right besides taking them to the Chiefs’ games.
The influence of sports runs deep in the Mahomes parents, as Brittany had a brief stint in the National Women’s Soccer League before taking over the family as Patrick started to have more responsibilities as a member of the NFL and both look to pas on the baton to their kids.
