The tension between LeBron and Brooks continues to escalate after the Lakers’ victory

LeBron James was once again the driving force behind his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, in the latest victory they secured against the Phoenix Suns. In that game, the ‘King’ once again had run-ins with Dillon Brooks.

The purple and gold squad earned the win at the Mortgage Matchup Center against the Suns, 116 to 114, with Brooks at his purest essence, trying to get under the skin of his rivals, especially James.

The Canadian forward is well known in the NBA for trying to get opponents out of their comfort zone and provoke them into making key mistakes that result in points being scored against them or fouls being drawn that can take them out of the game.

The heated exchanges that occurred throughout almost the entire game even required, on one occasion, the intervention of the referees to separate them so the situation would not escalate further.

We’re going to get up in each other’s face

James said in the locker room postgame, and added.

Tried not to go borderline with it. I don’t really take it there. But we just compete and did that almost all the way to the end of the game.

A costly action for Dillon Brooks

After being physical and making contact with LeBron, following actions that should not have been executed one hundred percent against the Lakers player, Brooks was ultimately ejected in the final quarter, and this became a turning point for his lineup.

Despite leaving the game early, Devin Booker, Brooks’ teammate, came out to defend him, saying that this type of activity from his colleague is good for the team.

People always say everything is too friendly in the NBA, and then Dillon comes around, and now it’s too much.

Booker stated and added.

I’d rather it be the other way — it be too much.

This feud is not new. It is worth remembering when Brooks played for the Houston Rockets and struck LeBron James in the groin. This only shows that there is a serious animosity between the two that will continue to increase if they face each other more regularly.

This coming Thursday, December 18, the Lakers will be facing the Utah Jazz and then, on Saturday the 20th, they will go head-to-head against the LA Clippers.
