The Dallas Cowboys will have all eyes on them once the #12 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft makes his debut later this month
Dallas has many holes in its roster and needs immediate impact players who can contribute from the start of the season, as they rely heavily on building their roster through the draft.
A Philly man called out the Mayor for being incompetent because he’s a Dallas Cowboys fan
The Cowboys have had a successful preseason so far, but their success could be hampered if they do not find at least one key piece in the 2025 NFL Draft. Dallas is still missing key pieces on both sides of the field if they want to compete with the best teams in the league.
Strong rumors in favor of Tetairoa McMillan with the Cowboys
Those missing pieces will have to be found in the draft, given the way Jerry and Stephen Jones operate. Luckily for Dallas, there will be no shortage of talent around the Cowboys’ first two draft picks.
Many players have been linked with the Cowboys in various positions, especially at wide receiver. Matthew Golden of Texas and Luther Burden of Missouri have been popular options
Tetairoa McMillan of Arizona has also been mentioned, and on Thursday, when draft analyst Todd McShay spoke about his list of the top 150 players for the draft, he mentioned that there are rumors about the possibility of Dallas choosing McMillan in the first round.
According to Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon, the ideal scenario for the Cowboys in the draft would be to select Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
“Tetairoa McMillan comes to them and they add a lot to the receiving corps, resisting the temptation to waste a top-12 pick on a running back,” Gagnon said.
The Lone Star team apparently shied away from drafting a running back in the first round by signing two capable running backs in free agency. These signings made wide receiver, defensive line and secondary stand out as more immediate needs.
Beyond the standout prospects Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter, who have no chance of falling to Dallas, McMillan stands out as the player in this draft who can have the biggest impact on the Cowboys.
With the almost opposite playing styles of McMillan and Lamb, they could complement each other perfectly, which could lead the Cowboys’ offense back to the top of the league.
They talk a lot about McMillan being Dallas’ 12th draft pick
McMillan has the ideal size: 1.95 m and 96 kg. Add to that his physique, route-running ability and excellent hands, and McMillan is an absolute nightmare on the outside
He is an ideal player for the red zone thanks to his physical characteristics. In addition, he is extremely athletic, and he demonstrates this with his ability to make contested catches.
McMillan also possesses some versatility in his game. During his collegiate career, he logged 347 snaps in the slot, and thanks to his size, he can create favorable matchups when on an island
With All-Pro CeeDee Lamb also being an expert in the slot, Tetairoa could allow the Cowboys to change some things up in terms of their aerial attack.
There has been talk of separation issues with McMillan. However, watching him play against the best cornerback in the 2023 draft, Travis Hunter of Colorado, he caught three of the five passes thrown his way and scored
It is also worth noting that McMillan showed the ability to get away from Hunter and was free on several plays that the quarterback missed.
What should be heard most is what the Cowboys’ front office has to say about the draft later this month. That said, the rumor about McMillan coming to Dallas should not be ignored, and it is certainly a possibility when the Cowboys are on the clock.
