Alarms went off in Dallas when, with 2:31 left in the second quarter, Luka Doncic asked to be substituted and went straight to the locker room. He had entered seconds earlier and, on the first play after his return to the court, he was injured.
The Slovenian hurt himself in an apparently non-contact play, stepping badly. Just when he turns around you can see his gesture of pain. Later he was seen touching his calf and finally limped off the court. And he did not return.
At the time of his injury, Doncic had 14 points with 3 of 5 three-pointers, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in a game in which he promised to shine as he did last year at Christmas. The extent of his injury is not yet known, but it should be remembered that he is coming off a problem with a contusion on his left heel, although the problem in the game against Minnesota is in his left leg.
