Tom Brady believes the Chiefs are still the team to beat and has confidence in Mahomes and Kelce

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have started the season slower than usual, but Tom Brady isn’t sounding the alarm. The Fox Sports analyst believes the defending champions are still finding their way and remain a strong force in the NFL.

Despite a less explosive start over the first three weeks of play, Brady is confident in Mahomes and the Chiefs‘ ability to overcome their early struggles.

On Thursday, Brady placed Kansas City at the top of his power rankings heading into Week 4, maintaining that the team, though not yet at its peak, remains a powerhouse. His top five included the Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and Houston Texans, reflecting his faith in Kansas City’s overall strength.

Brady believes in the Chiefs

Even with a 3-0 record, the Chiefs‘ offense has yet to showcase the dynamic energy that has characterized their past seasons with Mahomes.

They’ve been missing a spark, especially with a couple of key offensive players sidelined. Wide receiver Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown and running back Isiah Pacheco are unavailable, and tight end Travis Kelce hasn’t fully found his rhythm in the passing game so far.

Brady reassures fans that although the Chiefs‘ performance has been less than explosive, their ability to win in tough situations is what sets them apart.

“I know they haven’t looked like the normal dominant Chiefs, but they’re finding ways to win, and great teams do that,” Brady said.

“They always find a way when it matters. This team’s done that. Patrick [Mahomes] has done a great job. He’s got a great connection with Rashee Rice in his second year. A great job by Carson Steele filling in for Pacheco. He had 72 yards the other day for that offense.

“It’s only a matter of time before that Patrick-Travis connection starts humming like always. It could be this Sunday against the Chargers in L.A.”
