Tom Brady turned a lighthearted social media moment from Eli Manning into a full-on roasting session aimed squarely at Peyton Manning.
What started as playful Super Bowl 60 banter quickly escalated, with the older Manning brother taking the brunt of the humor.
Eli Manning had posted a selfie on Sunday featuring himself, Peyton Manning, and Brady during the pregame ceremonies at Levi’s Stadium.
The NFL was honoring legendary quarterbacks before the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots kicked off.
Eli decided to turn the photo into a caption contest, playfully including Brady in his joke.
“Caption contest: I’ll go first. Hey guys, come watch this video of me getting into these skinny jeans,” Eli Manning wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. The reference poked fun at Brady‘s famously tight pants, a long-standing punchline among fans.
Brady escalates the banter with championship math and jabs
Brady responded without holding back. He fired off multiple Instagram stories, turning the joke away from himself and directly at Peyton Manning, who appeared innocently in the middle of the original photo.
“No Eli I’m zoomed all the way out… we still can’t fit Peyton’s head,” Brady wrote in his first story, reviving a long-running joke about Peyton Manning‘s forehead.
The banter continued as Brady flaunted his championship resume with some quick math. “Guys I don’t care which calculator app you use, 7>2+2,” he wrote, emphasizing that his seven Super Bowl rings dwarf the combined four titles of the Manning brothers. He even added another playful jab, calling both Peyton and Eli Manning his fans.
“I’d like to take a selfie with my fans!” Brady wrote. “Okay, on the count of three say ‘Seven’.”
Brady concluded the roast by suggesting it could become a weekly tradition, turning Peyton Manning into the main punchline despite never initiating the exchange. His trademark competitiveness shone through, even in retirement, as he found inventive ways to dominate a playful interaction.
The back-and-forth is part of a broader pattern. Brady previously trolled Eli Manning by marking his trading card with a zero-dollar price tag, prompting the Manning brothers to fire back. Despite being friendly, their rivalry remains deeply ingrained, with social media serving as a modern arena for their legendary competitiveness.
