Tom Brady’s next play: Bringing Bill Belichick to the Las Vegas Raiders?

As Tom Brady settles into his new role as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, speculation is already swirling about his potential influence on the franchise’s future.

According to reports, the seven-time Super Bowl champion may be looking to reunite with his long-time coach, Bill Belichick, to lead the Raiders out of their current slump.

Can Belichick fix the Raiders?

Brady, who recently acquired a 5% stake in the team, has been clear about his commitment to helping the Raiders improve.

“I’m eager to contribute to the organization in any way I can,” Brady stated after the deal was unanimously approved by NFL owners.

But if the latest reports are true, that contribution could go beyond financial involvement-Brady might be working behind the scenes to bring in one of the most decorated coaches in NFL history.

Bill Belichick, who coached Brady to six championships with the New England Patriots, is rumored to be considering a return to coaching in 2025.

With the Raiders struggling and in need of an experienced leader, Brady’s push for Belichick could be exactly what the team needs to break free from two decades of instability.

Belichick, with his 29-plus years of head coaching experience and a career record of 333-178, is widely regarded as the best candidate to bring stability and success back to the Raiders.

Known for his defensive expertise, Belichick could unlock the potential of stars like Maxx Crosby and Tyree Wilson, building a defense that matches the team’s storied past.

His no-nonsense, business-like approach to coaching might also be exactly what the Raiders need to create a winning culture.

Raiders can’t find stability in recent years

Since their last division title in 2002, the Raiders have cycled through 12 head coaches, and despite a promising interim stint by Antonio Pierce, the franchise seems to be on the verge of a complete rebuild.

Pierce’s limited experience, combined with the team’s challenges in the highly competitive AFC West, have led many to believe that a more seasoned coach is required to turn things around.

While nothing is official, the prospect of Brady and Belichick reuniting in Las Vegas is enough to excite Raiders fans who have been longing for a return to relevance.

For now, all eyes are on the team’s next move-and whether Brady’s influence will bring his former coach back to the sidelines.

The Raiders are currently 2-4 in the 2024 regular season and are in last place of the AFC West division.

Las Vegas’ next game is against the Los Angels Rams on Sunday afternoon as part of Week 7’s action.
