Isaiah Thomas has announced the death of his older sister on November 20 as the former Phoenix Suns player mourns a sibling once again, just seven years after his other sister died in a car accident in 2017.
The 35-year-old announced the passing of LaQuisha Baldtrip via his Instagram Story with a photo of her smiling at a Slow Grind Media, a company formed by the ex-Boston Celtic and two-time NBA All-Star.
“Ima miss you, big sis!!!” Thomas said via the Meta-owned social media platform. “Damn, how you leave me too? Two sisters gone!!!! This can’t be real. I love and miss you, Queen.”
LaQuisha’s cause of death was not revealed but it is clear that the basketballer is taking it hard after he posted “F**k” to X.com, the Elon Musk-owned social media app formerly known as Twitter.
Thomas mourns his sister again
As mentioned above, this is not the first time Thomas is grieving for one of his sisters after losing Chyna in a car accident on Interstate 5 in Washington back in 2017, with her car becoming destroyed around 5am.
An eye witness said that the vehicle drifted into the left shoulder and ended up around 50ft off the road before striking a barrier with Chyna driving without her seat belt on, meaning she died at the scene.
Thomas, then playing for the Celtics, paid tribute to her the following day during the NBA Playoffs as he wore sneakers reading, “Chyna, RIP Lil Sis. I love you,” before dominating the contest against the Chicago Bulls by posting 33 points, earning admiration from his colleagues.
Road accidents in the United States killed around 42,915 people in 2021, up 10.5% from 2020, and statistically was the leading cause of death within the USA for people aged between one and 54 years old.
