Travis Hunter shockingly reveals the NFL team he wants to draft him: Will it be possible in the Top 5?

We’re just about halfway through the 2024 college football season, and there’s one player who has really established himself as must-watch TV: Travis Hunter. The two-way star was already a constant topic of conversation during his first season with Colorado in 2023, but he has seemingly stepped up his game even more this year. So much so that he currently has the second best odds to win the Heisman Trophy, slightly behind Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.

Despite his dominance for the Buffaloes, Hunter has already proven to be a polarizing NFL Draft prospect. Analysts and fans can’t decide whether he should be a wide receiver or cornerback at the next level, although most believe he should primarily be a corner with a package of plays per game where he can contribute on offense. Whichever position he chooses to pursue might very well depend on the team that drafts him.

Coach Prime’s take on Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunte”s NFL draft future

Hunter is expected to declare following this season, and the expectation is he will go within the first five picks. If Hunter had the chance to choose, he already has the perfect team in mind: the Denver Broncos.

I never feel uncomfortable or not safe [in Boulder]… I wish I could go the Broncos just to stay in Colorado, because so much people just welcomed us with open arms. They showed us love that we wouldn’t have gotten in a different spot.

The Broncos just won their second game of the season and would be picking 18th if the NFL season ended today, so there would be no chance of them getting Hunter. But a lot can change before the end of the year.

Travis Hunter says he wants to play both sides in the NFL too

On that same episode of the Kickin It With Dee podcast, Hunter also mentioned that he has no plans to give up one side of the ball once he gets to the league. He doesn’t even want just a few snaps on offense or defense: he wants to play both sides for the whole game.

Y’all don’t understand, the NFL game is a lot slower than college. We’re not getting 110 snaps a game in the NFL. They go to a huddle for everything. You get a break in between plays.

Hunter might be on to something, but NFL head coaches may see it a different way.
