Travis Kelce performance with the Chiefs undervalued again by claiming Taylor Swift gives it all to him

We have reached the final weekend of the regular season in the NFL, with 12 of the 14 playoff spots secured and many seeds still to be decided in both conferences, but the highlight will undoubtedly be the final Sunday night between the Detroit Lions visiting the Minnesota Vikings for the 1st seed in the NFC. Also as we near the end of the regular season, the Pro Bowl rosters have been announced with six NFL teams sending at least five players to Orlando, led by the league-leading Baltimore Ravens who will have nine Pro Bowlers unless the team reaches the Super Bowl LlX in New Orleans on February 9.

Kelce’s Controversial Selection Sparks Debate Among Fans

In the AFC, the team with the most picks after the Ravens were the Chiefs with five, with Travis Kelce being the only playmaker selected, not even Patrick Mahomes was selected. Mahomes did not have a better season than any of the three quarterbacks selected (Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow), but Kelce’s inclusion caused controversy among fans who felt he should not have been selected over players like Jonnu Smith, let alone being the player in the entire NFL with the most votes. The Pro Bowl has been more of a popularity contest than a performance contest for many years, so it should come as no surprise that the player with the most famous WAG in history, Taylor Swift, led the voting.

It’s also not like Kelce had much competition at the tight end position in the AFC to be voted over him. Outside of Brock Bowers who is without a doubt the best tight end in the entire NFL this year in the AFC maybe Jonnu Smith who only beats him by 5 receiving yards so far and has more receiving touchdowns 7 to Kelce’s 3 or Mark Andrews who only beats him in receiving touchdowns with 10 might have better credentials to be elected to the Pro Bowl but by popularity there is no way either of them would have outvote Kelce. I am not defending him but it is the stats of the season that make Kelce to be elected and obviously the “Swifties” also have a lot to do but it is not fair to demerit Kelce’s season which it looks like it will be the worst in his 12 year career in many areas.

Kelce’s Worst Year Instigate his Retirement

Kelce will most likely not play Sunday against the Broncos as the Chiefs have nothing at stake with the 1st seed already in hand, it will be the worst season for him in terms of yards and touchdowns, not counting his rookie year. If he and the Chiefs starters don’t play Sunday, they won’t take the field again until the divisional round, which is scheduled for January 18 or 19. That would be 23 or 24 days without a game, which seems like a long layoff. But it also gives Andy Reid, who is 22-4 after bye weeks in the regular season, plenty of time to prepare.

Travis is certainly a Hall of Famer, in the game against the Steelers he broke Tony Gonzalez’s record for most receiving touchdowns in Chiefs history with 77. If he wins the three-peat, retirement could be a great option, I mean retiring on top as part of the only three-peat team in history would be a great farewell for him as he has also become a celebrity off the field and at 35 must be thinking about starting a family with Taylor Swift.
