Travis Kelce‘s rising fame has brought with it some unfortunate consequences. Since he began dating Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has seen his profile skyrocket as scores of new NFL fans are following his exploits on a weekly basis with the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.

But Kelce has been criticized amid his inconsistent 2024 season to this point — which has occurred simultaneously with an expansion of his portfolio into podcasting and acting. He also suffered a burglary at his home in Leawood, Kansas last month — an incident that required him to move with Swift into a downtown Kansas City hotel.

Kelce’s watch found on the East Coast

Kelce received some good news Friday as a wristwatch taken from his Leawood house was recovered…roughly 1,500 miles away from the scene of the crime.

Authorities in Providence, Rhode Island found a watch belonging to Kelce, which marks the first confirmation that items beyond $20,000 in cash were removed from Kelce’s home while the Chiefs battled the New Orleans Saints in a Monday Night Football game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

Kelce and teammate Patrick Mahomes both had their houses burglarized while they were away on other business, related to their work with the Chiefs or otherwise. Investigating authorities — now including the FBI — think that the Kelce and Mahomes burglaries are connected to a South American cartel. ABC News reports that the thefts are highly-sophisticated; the alleged burglars have “scoped out” their targets, posing as delivery drivers, maintenance workers, and even as joggers in order to learn as much as they can about the properties.

The burglary incident at the Kelce home might have spooked Swift, but their relationship appears to be as strong as ever — with recent speculation suggesting that the pair have discussed becoming parents in the near future. They could have even more to celebrate, potentially, in the next few months, as Kelce and the Chiefs pursue a third consecutive Super Bowl title.
