Turmoil in Buffalo? Von Miller picks Patrick Mahomes over Josh Allen in GOAT debate

The Kansas City Chiefs celebrated their Super Bowl LVIII victory in grand style at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

Patrick Mahomes, now a three-time Super Bowl champion, took center stage, proudly displaying his latest championship ring. The ring, adorned with 529 diamonds, 38 rubies, and an impressive 14.8 carats of gold, paid homage to the crucial “Tom & Jerry” play that secured their win over the San Francisco 49ers.

It wasn’t just those involved with the Kansas City Chiefs franchise that commented on the event, with Von Miller of the Buffalo Bills congratulating Patrick Mahomes on his success.

Why have Miller’s words caused controversy?

The event gained a new dimension when Mahomes shared a photo of his ring on Instagram, prompting an unexpected tribute from Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller.

Miller’s ‘GOAT’ emoji comment resonated deeply, positioning Mahomes above his contemporary, Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who is still in pursuit of his first Super Bowl win.

Whilst Mahomes has clearly won more than Allen in terms of Super Bowls, these kind of comments are taken to heart by athletes, no matter how minor they may seem to outsiders.

Miller is expected to remain in Buffalo next season and will have to ensure there are no hard feelings between himself and Allen.

At just 28 years old, Mahomes has already been crowned Super Bowl MVP three times, leading the Chiefs to a thrilling 25-22 triumph last season. The ring ceremony not only celebrated past achievements but also fuelled anticipation for the Chiefs’ ambitious quest for a historic three-peat, a feat never achieved in NFL history.

Miller’s acknowledgment added an intriguing dynamic to the Chiefs-Bills rivalry. As Kansas City looks forward to the upcoming season, Mahomes’ legendary status continues to soar, capturing the attention of the entire NFL landscape.
