After the Miami Dolphins fell short of securing an NFL playoff wild-card berth with a mediocre performance, the moves are now coming, but not the ones fans are hoping for, but those that come after the frustration and helplessness of an insufficient season: the departures in search of better horizons.

This is the case of wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who since Miami had to bow its head when its playoff chances were eliminated by losing to the New York Jets, began to sound to leave the team for next season thanks to his always controversial post-game comments.

The famous ‘Cheetah‘ does not see himself in the future with the Dolphins, that was clear from before, after a series of cryptic comments in which he suggested that he did not want to continue playing for the Florida team, but the straw that broke the camel’s back were these words after the game at MetLife Stadium: “I’m opening the door. I’m leaving, man. It was great to play here, but at the end of the day I have to do what’s best for my career. I’m too competitive to be out there.”
Now an NFL executive believes the player may already have a team that intends to sign him, but the way he told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler would not be the best principle for Hill: “The Patriots are desperate. They need a guy, that alpha who can be friendly to Drake Maye (…) and there’s a greater likelihood that the draft picks [Miami would receive in a trade] will be higher than with a contender.”

For his part, coach Mike McDaniel is not happy with either Hill’s performance or his attitude, but said this “will not be tolerated in the future,” while Dolphins general manager Chris Grier came out to clarify that Hill never requested a trade. Two indicators that the ‘Cheetah’ would not be leaving just yet and would fulfill his contract until 2026.
The aforementioned trade would reportedly give the Dolphins a 2025 third-round draft pick from the Patriots if they are unable to sign Tee Higgins. What is certain is that New England would not be averse to the superstar receiver who would complement Drake Maye in the first season of coach Mike Vrabel at the helm.
