t‘s been almost five years since that tragic Sunday, January 26, 2020, when news broke that Kobe Bryant had died in a helicopter crash along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and seven other passengers. But when someone dies, it is their loved ones who suffer the most – in this case, Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, and daughter, Natalia. Vanessa, in particular, has focused her efforts on honoring Kobe and Gianna’s legacy through her work with The Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Vanessa Bryant Shines at the ‘Baby2Baby’ Gala
Vanessa attended the Baby2Baby Foundation Gala last night, looking stunning at 42 in a gold dress and sporting a fresh new look. She was seen alongside celebrities including Jessica Alba, Ciara and Rachel Zoe, Charlize Theron, as well as foundation co-founders Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof. Like many women, Vanessa clearly enjoys visiting the salon to stay youthful and glowing, as evidenced by the photos from the gala.
No doubt Vanessa could find a new partner at any time, but no one could ever replace Kobe. Back to the Baby2Baby Foundation, it’s a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing basic necessities to children living in poverty, a truly remarkable mission. Over the past 13 years, the foundation has provided approximately 200 million diapers and over 450 million basic necessities to families in need across the country.
With the big heart that Vanessa has shown, it’s likely that she has made significant donations from Kobe’s estate to support Baby2Baby and many other nonprofit organizations. Kobe’s estate was valued at around $600 million at the time of his death, according to Forbes. Hopefully we’ll continue to hear about Vanessa’s contributions to these worthy causes, as the world can always benefit from people doing good.
