Victor Wembanyama continues to prove that NBA All-Star Weekend is not just about what happens on the court.

The San Antonio Spurs center was recorded sliding down a railing during festivities, a lighthearted moment that quickly circulated on social media. The 7-foot-4 French star appeared relaxed and playful as he made his way through the venue, showing a side of his personality that fans rarely see during the intensity of the regular season.

The viral clip added to the buzz surrounding Wembanyama’s All-Star appearance. He is set to represent Team World in the 75th NBA All-Star Game, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 15 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. The event will air on NBC and Peacock and feature a new round-robin mini-tournament format with USA Stars, USA Stripes and Team World competing in four 12-minute games.

The Spurs are well represented

Wembanyama will not be the only Spurs representative on the All-Star stage. De’Aaron Fox was recently named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace injured Giannis Antetokounmpo. Fox will join USA Stripes, earning his second All-Star selection and first since the 2022-23 season.

In his ninth NBA season, Fox is averaging 19.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.27 steals across 45 games. He was also named to the All-Tournament Team for the Emirates NBA Cup 2025 after posting 22.3 points, 7.7 assists and 2.00 steals per game during the Spurs‘ run to the championship game. His production has helped lift San Antonio to a 38-16 record, good for second place in the Western Conference.

Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson will serve as the USA Stripes head coach in the All-Star Game, marking a significant organizational presence at the league’s marquee midseason event. Antetokounmpo, a 10-time All-Star who was originally voted a starter for Team World, will miss the game because of a right calf strain.

For Wembanyama, the weekend has already delivered memorable moments off the court. The railing slide may not count in the box score, but it added to the growing highlight reel of a player who has quickly become one of the NBA‘s most recognizable young stars.
