It seems that the patience of the Minnesota Vikings is running out, after they have sought to close the deal with veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, in a direct battle with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants to acquire his services, without him making a decision.
The Vikings have shown that the way forward for them will be with JJ McCarthy, which would end up burying the chances of A-Rod, who was released at the start of free agency by the New York Jets and it is not known if he will continue playing, with whom he will do it or if he will opt for retirement.

Vikings looking to sign Ryan Tannehill
The Minnesota Vikings have held talks with free agent quarterback Ryan Tannehill about a possible contract, according to a report by Fox Sports NFL expert Jordan Schultz.
Talks between the Vikings and Tannehill are ongoing, but there is nothing conclusive at this time, except for the fact that the NFL franchise’s front office is not willing to play along with Aaron Rodgers.
The 11-year NFL veteran did not play last season. From 2012 to 2023 with the Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans, he completed 64.3% of his passes for 34,881 yards and 216 touchdowns, with 115 interceptions. He has started 151 career games.
Tanehill would give the Vikings depth at the quarterback position, behind second-year passer J.J. McCarthy, who missed all of last season with a knee injury.
Sam Darnold, the Vikings’ starter last season, left in free agency for the Seattle Seahawks.
