The capital of the United States, Washington, breathes soccer. One of the city’s most important cultural centers, the Kennedy Center, is finalizing preparations to host the draw for the 23rd edition of the World Cup.
It will be from 12:00 noon tomorrow in the United States, when the composition of the 12 groups of the first World Cup with 48 teams will be known.

There are already 42 places assured, with Spain as one of the dozen teams that are seeded, and the remaining six will be known after the playoffs in March.Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, will be the master of ceremonies for a draw that will be attended and participated in by the president of the United States, Donald Trump. The ceremony is scheduled to start at six o’clock in the afternoon and last approximately two hours, before the coaches take the floor in the mixed zone to analyze their path.
Unlike in previous World Cups, the teams will not leave the Kennedy Center with a clear path. They will have to wait until Saturday to find out the day, time and stadium of their matches. A FIFA committee, headed by Infantino, will distribute the matches according to interests and convenience criteria. The draw will be largely controlled, because it is clear that Argentina will play at least two of its three first-round matches in Miami.
