Taylor Swift, known for her chart-topping hits, is also making waves off the field with her baking skills.
Following the Kansas City Chiefs‘ nail-biting 30-27 win over the Carolina Panthers, defensive backs coach Dave Merritt was surprised with a unique treat: Swift’s homemade “victory Pop-Tarts.”
Merritt, in his sixth season with the Chiefs, shared his excitement on social media, posting a picture of the baked goodies.
“Taylor Swift baked homemade victory Pop-Tarts for me,” Merritt posted on Instagram.
However, his moment of pride was humorously deflated by his wife, Yolanda, who revealed that Swift had been baking for different members of the team all season.
Despite learning he wasn’t the sole recipient of Swift‘s culinary talents, Merritt remained charmed.
“She’s a sweet young woman,” he continued.
Baked goods are becoming a Chiefs tradition
Swift‘s thoughtful gestures have become part of the Chiefs’ culture.
Earlier this year, head coach Andy Reid revealed that Swift had baked homemade Pop-Tarts for the team’s offensive linemen during their Super Bowl-winning season.
“She made the offensive linemen these homemade Pop-Tarts, and it was over. She knew right where to go,” Reid shared.
However, Reid himself wasn’t lucky enough to sample her creations.
“No, she didn’t give me one.”
“And the offensive linemen definitely didn’t!”
As a regular presence at Chiefs games, Swift has become a cherished figure within Chiefs Kingdom.
Whether cheering from the stands or showing support in the locker room, her involvement goes beyond her relationship with Travis Kelce.
Her blend of fandom and personal connection has made her an integral part of the team’s atmosphere.
For a squad chasing another Super Bowl title, Swift‘s presence, and her homemade treats, add a little extra sweetness to their journey.
