With the Detroit Lions victory over the Minnesota Vikings, the 18-week regular season came to an end, and now 14 teams, seven from each conference, are vying for the coveted ticket to Super Bowl LIX, which will take place on Sunday, February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
While teams like the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots disappointed their fans, the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs are the ones who are the favorites to play on Super Bowl Sunday.
American Conference: Everyone against the Chiefs
In the American Conference, the Kansas City Chiefs were the best and will rest in the wild card round, where six teams will go for three tickets to the divisional round.
The first team to open hostilities will be the Los Angeles Chargers, who will take on the Houston Texans, who are the heavy favorites in this duel
At M&T Bank Stadium, the Baltimore Ravens will host the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are looking to end a 16-year drought without winning the Super Bowl, but they will not have an easy task against Lamar Jackson and his offensive explosiveness.
And the stellar game of this wild card round in the National Conference is starring the Denver Broncos, who visit Highmark Stadium to face a Buffalo Bills team that is marked as favorites to reach the AFC Championship Game.
National Conference: Who’s Stopping Detroit?
While the National Conference will see a changing of the guard after defending champion San Francisco failed in the regular season, leaving the way clear for Detroit, who await their divisional round opponent.
The Philadelphia Eagles look like a strong contender in the NFC, as they will host the Green Bay Packers at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on a roll and will make Raymond James Stadium count when Jay Daniels and the Washington Commanders look to return to a Super Bowl after more than 34 years away.
Finally, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the Los Angeles Rams will be the first test for the Minnesota Vikings, who could arrive with the psychological factor against them after the setback against the Lions.
