DeSean Jackson, once one of the NFL‘s most dynamic deep threats, now finds himself at the center of serious allegations tied to his early tenure as a college head coach.

The former Pro Bowl wide receiver, currently leading the Delaware State Hornets, is being sued by ex-player Malachi Biggs, who claims he suffered a violent assault in the team’s locker room and points to what he describes as a troubling culture within the program.

According to the lawsuit, Biggs alleges he was attacked by former teammate Anthony Hebert on November 19, an incident he says left him unconscious and caused significant dental injuries, including the loss of at least a dozen teeth.

The accusations go beyond the alleged assault itself, extending to claims about the environment Jackson fostered within the team.

Biggs contends that Jackson promoted a “tough guy” approach that “relied heavily upon the use of gang-associated slang and gang-associated mentality,” suggesting that such messaging contributed to an unsafe atmosphere.

The lawsuit further alleges that Jackson and members of his staff failed to intervene in harmful behavior and, in some cases, allowed it to escalate.

The claims paint a troubling picture, accusing the program of tolerating misconduct. Biggs alleges that Jackson and his staff even “encouraged crimes, assaults, harassment, hazing, altercations” during their time at Delaware State University.

He also claims that after the alleged incident, Hebert faced no disciplinary action and was later brought onto the coaching staff.

Jackson has strongly denied the allegations. In a statement shared publicly, he pushed back against the characterization of his leadership and emphasized his commitment to player welfare.

“I take the safety, well-being, and development of every student-athlete in the Delaware State University football program seriously,” Jackson said.

“I have never fostered or encouraged hazing, bullying, or any violent environment, and that has never been the culture I have worked to build.”

He added, “Because this matter is the subject to pending litigation, I will not comment further. My focus has always been on creating a positive, respectful place for student athletes to train, compete, grow, and pursue their college dreams.”
