The 34-year-old former NBA star, who recently announced his retirement after an illustrious 12-season career, is joining the Hornets as a player enhancement coach.
“Basketball will forever be a part of my life so this isn’t goodbye. I’m excited for what’s next,” Walker shared in his heartfelt retirement statement on social media.

Walker played for four NBA teams
Walker spent eight seasons with the Hornets after being drafted ninth overall in 2011, setting franchise records in points, field goals, three-pointers, free throws, and minutes played. He is also second in assists and third in steals and games played for Charlotte.
During his NBA career, Walker also had stints with the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Dallas Mavericks. Despite a promising start, his time with the Knicks was cut short due to knee injuries, although he did leave fans with unforgettable performances, including a 44-point game against the Wizards and a Christmas Day triple-double.
After a brief tenure with the Mavericks, Walker finished his professional career overseas with AS Monaco, compiling impressive career averages of 19.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game.
