Not enough to forgive Real Madrid

Not enough to forgive Real Madrid

A month after their last win against Atltico Madrid (March 22), Real Madrid returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Alavs at the Santiago Bernabu, powered by goals from Kylian Mbapp and Vinicius Jr.

The side managed by lvaro Arbeloa snapped a four-game winless streak – two in LaLiga and two in the UEFA Champions League – and secured a crucial result on Matchday 33.

Mbapp opened the scoring around the half-hour mark with a shot that deflected off a defender, wrong-footing goalkeeper Antonio Sivera. Early in the second half, Vinicius Jr. doubled the lead in the 50th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box. Toni Martnez pulled one back for Alavs in stoppage time.

With the win, Real Madrid moves to within six points of LaLiga leaders Barcelona, who will face Celta Vigo on Wednesday.
