Adding to a long list of off-the-field headaches for the Kansas City Chiefs was kicker Harrison Butker‘s controversial speech from a couple of weeks ago.
Many Chiefs players, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, as well as head coach Andy Reid, have made statements about the speech. Mahomes and Reid were quite supportive of Butker. That support seemingly runs in the Mahomes family.

Randi Mahomes’ one word message of support for Harrison Butker
Patrick’s mom, Randi, posted a message to her social media account agreeing with Butker’s most recent words, in which he doubled down on his stance.
That’s now most Chiefs players, personnel and family members being content with sticking by Butker’s side. Despite a lot of outrage on social media, there are plenty of people who believe Butker didn’t say anything overly wrong.
The team appears to be moving on as if nothing happened. It’s that type of camaraderie that has helped the Chiefs become the dominant team in the NFL since Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback.
