Stephen Curry sends message to Cameron Brink modeling her USA uniform

Cameron Brink is still finding her footing as a rookie in the WNBA, but the Los Angeles Sparks‘ blossoming star recently received the news that she will be going to the Summer Olympic Games in Paris next month as part of USA Basketball‘s three-on-three women’s team. Brink was one of just four players selected for this team, which also includes Atlanta Dream forward Rhyne Howard and TCU guard Hailey Van Lith.

Initially, Brink did not want to pursue a pro basketball career — but her life changed when she attended a basketball camp hosted by former NBA sharpshooter Dell Curry, the father of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. The relationship between the Brink and Curry families was reinforced with that fateful choice, and Steph ensured the bond would remain strong with a new social media post supporting Cameron.

Curry’s message to his godsister

On Instagram Stories, Curry linked back to a photo showing Brink proudly displaying her brand-new United States jersey and welcomed the Sparks forward to her new family as a US Olympian — saying the two now shared the same team.

Curry has twice won the FIBA World Cup with the US national team, but has to compete at the Olympic Games. In that sense, Brink has already surpassed Curry and achieved something he hasn’t during his decorated 15-year pro career.

The 3×3 competition begins July 30 and runs through Aug. 5 at Place de la Concorde, and it will give Brink a chance to grow, learn, and even try out a few new tricks before she returns stateside to continue the WNBA season.
