Taylor Swift feels ‘used’ by friend Blake Lively after message about Khaleesi and her ‘dragons’

Taylor Swift is no stranger to public scrutiny, but this time, it’s her friendship with Blake Lively that’s reportedly causing tension.

The pop icon reportedly feels blindsided after being indirectly mentioned in Lively‘s ongoing legal battle with her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.

According to an insider speaking to Page Six, the drama stems from Baldoni‘s countersuit in which Lively‘s alleged text messages were revealed.

In one particular message, the famous actress seemingly compared herself to Khaleesi from “Game of Thrones,” implying she has a circle of “dragons” who defend her.

“If you ever get around to watching ‘Game of Thrones,’ you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons,” Lively allegedly texted Baldoni.

“For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you.”

While Lively never explicitly named who these “dragons” were, many fans and insiders speculated that she was referring to her husband, Ryan Reynolds and Swift.

“I really love what you did. It really does [help] a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor),” Baldoni responded.

According to Page Six’s source, Swift is not happy with being pulled into the controversy, especially since she had nothing to do with the legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni.

Taylor really wishes Blake hadn’t dragged her into this whole situation,” the insider claimed. “She doesn’t appreciate being referred to as one of Blake‘s dragons.”

Swift’s silence on “It Ends With Us”

Swift and Lively have shared a close friendship since 2015, often supporting each other’s projects. However, fans noticed Swift‘s noticeable silence when it came to promoting Lively‘s latest movie, It Ends With Us.

Unlike her outspoken support for Zoe Kravitz‘s film “Blink Twice”, Swift did not publicly endorse Lively‘s project, which premiered in August 2024.

Considering the movie’s subject matter-an abusive relationship-and Swift‘s history of championing women’s empowerment, some fans found it odd that she chose not to encourage her fanbase to watch the film.

Taylor cherishes genuine friendships, but she can’t help but feel used at this point,” the insider added. “She wants to stay out of the drama as much as possible.”
