NFL star Tyreek Hill has responded to track star Noah Lyles’ challenge to a race, escalating the debate over who holds the title of the fastest man.
The feud began when Lyles, the 2024 Olympic gold and bronze medalist, dismissed Hill’s claims of the NFL star’s faster speed.

On a recent episode of Shannon Sharpe’s“Nightcap” podcast, Lyles accused Hill of “chasing clout” and criticized him for not taking action to arrange a race, suggesting Hill’s challenge was merely an attempt to gain attention.
“Tyreek is just chasing clout,” Lyles said.
“Anytime somebody fast comes up, he says he wants to race them. If he really wanted to race people, he would’ve shown up like DK Metcalf. The man dodges smoke. I don’t have time for that.”
Hill, known for his speed on the football field as a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, took to X shortly after Lyles’ comments to call for a formal race.
“Sign the contract and lock in that 50-yard race,” Hill said, showing he is ready to put the talk into action.
Despite Lyles’ sharp comments, he remains open to the idea of a race if Hill is serious.
“If [Tyreek is] truly serious about it – I’m not talking about you just talking on the internet and you ain’t actually coming to me and talking to my agent and saying let’s do something up – if you’re serious about it, you’ll see me on the track,” Lyles added.
Hill, a former track athlete himself, has a personal best of 10.19 seconds in the 100 meters and 20.14 seconds in the 200 meters.
Lyles’ achievements in these distances at the Olympics would suggest a formidable challenge for Hill.
The ongoing feud highlights a clash between two of the fastest men in their respective sports, drawing attention from fans of both track and field and the NFL.
