Who is the No. 1 priority for the Cowboys? Prescott, Lamb, or Parsons? The answer may shock fans

The Dallas Cowboys are facing a crucial offseason as they work to secure new deals for their key players. Quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, and linebacker Micah Parsons are all in need of contract extensions, but as of now, the Cowboys have yet to sign any of them.

ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler shed some light on the situation during a recent segment of “SportsCenter.” According to Fowler, the Cowboys have made it clear that their main priority is to extend Prescott before focusing on Lamb and Parsons.

He stated. “You’ve got Dak Prescott. The Cowboys have a world of problems here financially with three players they have to sign-Micah Parsons, CeeDee Lamb as well-but the feeling around the league and sources I’ve talked to is that they want to start with Dak.”

Fowler also mentioned that while the Cowboys have expressed their desire to prioritize Prescott’s extension, there hasn’t been significant progress in terms of concrete offers. He described their efforts as “passive” at this point.

Cowboys focused on extending Dak before addressing Lamb and Parsons

Prescott, who is entering the final year of his $160 million contract signed in 2021, is coming off an impressive season where he led the league in passing yards and touchdowns. With 4,516 passing yards and 36 touchdowns under his belt, Prescott has proven himself as a top-tier quarterback in the NFL.

Meanwhile, CeeDee Lamb has one year remaining on his rookie deal, and Micah Parsons is eligible for an extension after completing three seasons on his rookie contract. Both players have shown immense potential and are integral parts of the Cowboys’ future plans.

Despite Prescott’s outstanding performance, the Cowboys suffered another disappointing postseason exit, falling to the Green Bay Packers. This further emphasizes the urgency for the team to secure their key players and build a competitive roster for the upcoming seasons.

As the negotiations continue, it’s evident that the Cowboys are facing a complex financial situation with multiple star players in need of new deals. The outcome of these negotiations will not only impact the future of the franchise but also shape the team’s competitiveness in the highly competitive NFL landscape.
