Josh Allen, betrayed by Bills: he didn’t know they would sell Diggs

The Buffalo Bills stunned fans by trading star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans for a 2025 second-round pick. What’s even more surprising is that franchise quarterback Josh Allen reportedly found out about the trade at the same time as the public.

This lack of communication raises questions about the relationship between Allen and Diggs, with speculation suggesting tension may have influenced the decision. Despite Diggs‘ significant contributions over four years, tallying impressive stats and helping drive the Bills‘ offense, his departure leaves a notable gap in the team’s receiving corps.

“#Bills GM Brandon Beane said he didn’t inform Josh Allen that the Stefon Diggs trade was happening, so he probably woke up to the news this morning,” reporter Ari Meirov wrote on X.

“But Beane said he did alert Allen this offseason that there were inquiries for Diggs, and something could happen.”

Diggs bids farewell

With tight end Dawson Knox and newcomer Dalton Kincaid as key targets, the Bills may need to bolster their receiving options to support Allen effectively.

“I can’t begin to express the amount of love and respect I have for the city of Buffalo,” Diggs wrote on Instagram to bid farewell to his former team.

“Four of the best years of my life, the city welcomed me with open arms. I’m forever grateful for you all and the @buffalobills organization!

“Something special was built over these years with some very special men, that will always have a place in my heart. Billsmafia, so many great memories created throughout the years. Those games were crazy because of you. Sadly good things come to an end until we meet again.”

As the Bills aim to secure a Super Bowl berth, their recent playoff losses to the Chiefs highlight the importance of assembling a competitive roster, indicating potential further moves to strengthen their offensive arsenal.
