The Jake Paul–Mike Tyson fight won’t take place in the near future, but it appears interest in the event isn’t waning.
Originally scheduled to take place on July 20, the fight will now take place on November 15 after Tyson reportedly suffered an ulcer flare-up while on a flight.
Amongst the countless people who can’t wait to see the two men step into the ring is Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs star recently appeared on ‘Riggle’s Pick’ podcast and shared his thoughts on the encounter.
Mahomes wary of Tyson
While Mahomes still thinks Tyson packs a mean punch, he believes Paul will come out on top should the fight go past two rounds.
“This is what my analysis is – if it goes longer than two rounds it’s going to be Jake Paul. But if Tyson hits I mean that’s still a powerful punch,” said Mahomes.
Word has begun to filter recently that Paul isn’t pleased with the delay, especially after Tyson looked in good spirits while celebrating his birthday.
“Jake is pissed cuz he sees Mike in Europe living life doing appearances celebrating his birthday,” said Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions in a recent conversation with Ariel Helwani.
He noted that Tyson looks to have resumed strength and body conditioning but isn’t engaged in boxing training just yet.
Fans counting down the days
Time will tell whether Mahomes’ prediction comes true. It’s also unlikely that the quarterback will be able to attend given the fight takes place in the middle of the regular season.
Just three days after the fight, Mahomes and his Chiefs teammates will take on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills came out on top in last year’s regular season encounter, but the Chiefs got revenge in the playoffs en route to their Super Bowl win.
