The details of the murder of Gabriele Vaccaro: bullying, argument, a minor arrested and failure to help

Gabriele Vaccaro was allegedly stabbed with a screwdriver after a fight over pizzas.

The CastrumFavara footballer and his friends were returning to their car parked at around 3:30 am in Pavia, when they came across five youths who, according to police reports, mocked them and demanded that they hand over some pizzas.

The taunts and threats triggered a scuffle in which Gabriele Vaccaro was punched in the abdomen with a screwdriver or punch.

A 17-year-old Egyptian student was arrested for the crime. During questioning, he exercised his right to remain silent and was taken to the Beccaria juvenile detention centre.

Vaccaro’s four friends are being investigated for failing to help the injured footballer.

They apparently witnessed the attack, did not take part in it and did not even call the emergency services to help the injured man.
